Winner of WSUS 2018: Anymaker!
"A startup consisting of a strong and passionate team that through innovative and popular products and commercially sound business plan, have added another dimension to their industry with the ability to continue to successfully develop all things 3D within the field of EdTech and beyond.”
For the 7th year in a row we were back to crown the next Startup Star, and this year's Winner was Anymaker, which provides two 3D modelling apps – Makerspace and Flying Colors 3D – designed to encourage kids to spend a greater proportion of their mobile time on being creative, while developing their analytical and spatial abilities. The target group is both private individuals and schools. It is also possible to connect the apps to a 3D printer and print their three-dimensional creations in environmental plastic.
First Runner-Up was Bioserva, which develops new, better storage solutions for medical biobanks, and Second Runner-Up was Phoenix Biopower, which develops new technologies for the efficient recovery of energy from biomass.
This year Wistrand and SEB partnered up with Connect Sweden, Andréasson PR and The Park - as well as networking partner Silicon Vikings - to help launch the next Star on the Swedish Startup Scene. The Awards were held at The Park (Hälsingegatan 49) on Thursday 17 May.
A big THANK YOU to all startups that have entered this year’s competition, everyone attending the Awards, DJ Adnan Ciric, catering firm Westers, the jury panel, The Park hosting the show and all partners - basically, each and everyone of you for making this happen! Scroll down to check out some photos from the Awards.
Next year's competition - WSUS 2019 - open up in January. See you again then!
